We are a small kennel located in the Hill Country of central Texas.
Our Story: Vanita began Littles Kennels more than 10 years ago with the goal of bringing quality Dachshunds to loving homes. The experience with a beloved family pet, "Buster", inspired the beginning of Littles' Kennels. She worked hard to protect the integrity of the conformation of the Dachshund breed by selecting the highest quality dogs, and she was very careful to only breed sires and dams who had sweet, agreeable, and pleasant personalities. The result has been beautiful miniature Dachshund puppies with fantastic demeanors - which is evident by the many homes who have adopted multiple puppies and refer friends and family!
In the spring of 2016 there was a shift when Vanita passed away. She had been working with us - her daughter, Aubrey, and son-in-law, Zack - since the fall of 2015 in anticipation of handing over her beloved Dachshunds to us. We have changed nothing, and there are no plans to. This is a family business, and we are striving to maintain the highest quality miniature Dachshunds with the same integrity and care that Vanita and Littles Kennels is known for. Vanita was also a literature and writing teacher, and you will notice that all puppies are now named after literary characters in her honor. We are having fun with that!
We currently only have longhair miniature Dachshunds, and we specialize in ee Creams. If you haven't seen an ee Cream longhair miniature Dachshund - go see our photos! A shaded Cream is a variation of the Creams, and they have a beautiful and unique slant to their coat with variations of light to deep brunette shading.
